Canada to Unveil Updated Defence Strategy
Defence Minister Bill Blair is set to announce an update to Canada's defence policy, which is going to feature some changes since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The new strategy, which updates the 2017 "Strong, Secure, Engaged" policy, is hoped to provide stability and predictability for the defence industry and includes plans for some heavy capital investments in military equipment.

Home Prices to Hit New Peaks by 2026
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation is forecasting a rise in home prices, with a return to early 2022 levels by next year and new highs by 2026. The cost move upwards is being blamed on supply shortages against a backdrop of strong demand, because of population growth and decent economic conditions. While the housing market's resurrection is expected, high interest rates in 2024 are likely to temper the construction of new rental projects, throwing another wrench into the market once again.
